Curriculum Vitae

1976 | Took part in Indonesia New Art Movement Exhibition in
Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta.

1978 | Took part in Exhibition of 4 Sculpture Studios which displayed works
from ITB, ASRI, IKJ and UNS in Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta.

1979 | Took part in Indonesia New Art Movement II Exhibition
in Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta and in French Cultural Center,
Bandung.
Took Part in a join exhibition for the alumni of Sculpture Department
ITB in Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta
Won the first prize for designing and building the Monument of
Indonesia Proclamation with G.Sidharta and Sumartono. He was
specifically appointed to make the statue of Soekarno.
Received a tribute for the Monument of The Indonesian Proclaimers.

1983 | Took part in a join exhibition of ITB’s alumni in Bandung

1984 | Made a public statue and aesthetical elements for
Putri Bali Hotel , Nusa Dua in Bali

1986 | Took part in the exhibition of Indonesian sculptors
in Museum Fatahilah, Jakarta

1988 | Became a professional level member of International Sculpture Centre,
Washington, DC, United States of America.

1989 | Solo Sculpture Exhibition I in Fine Arts Exhibition Hall, Department of
Education and Culture (now the National Gallery), Jakarta.
Took part in Sculpture Camp in Nan Yang Academy of
Fine Arts in Singapore.
With Jim Supangkat, Sri Malela and Gendut Riyanto, made
a collaborative work, “The Silent World”, the second project of
New Fine Arts. This work represents the AIDS patients.
The work was displayed in Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta.
“The Silent World” in ARX ’89 Exhibition (Australia and
Regions Artists Exchange) in Perth, Australia.
Appointed to take part in KIAS Exhibition (Indonesian Festival in
the United States Of America) which took place in several cities in
the United States of America and Hawaii.

1990 | Solo sculpture Exhibition II themed “Transcending Time and Space”
in Fine Arts Exhibition Hall of Department of Education
and Culture, Jakarta
Took part in “Ärte and Materia 1990” in National Museum,
Singapore.
Three statues, one of them were named “Day Dreaming”
were commissioned for the public at Kemang Pratama Real Estate
in Jakarta.
Made a public statue titled “Soccer” in Bandung
Made a public statue of “The Proclaimers of the Republic of Indonesia”
at the Lobby of UNTAG campus, Semolowaru, Surabaya.
Made a public statue titled “Kerapan Sapi ”, a traditional Madurese
bullrace, placed in Surabaya.
Made a public statues named “Tiger of Siliwangi” in Bandung
Made the traditional Balinese Gate (Candi Bentar) in Tretes, East Java.
Received a tribute for KIAS from the Committee of Indonesia Culture
Exhibition in the United States of America.

1991 | Took part in a join exhibition in the Headquarter Office of IMF
in Washington, DC, United States of America

1992 | Took part in sculpture Exhibition in Taman Budaya Yogyakarta
Took part in National Sculpture Exhibition held by ISI Yogya in
Taman Budaya Yogyakarta
Took part in the “Ärte and Materia 1992” exhibition,
in National Museum, Singapore
The nominee of Art Horizons-11th Sculpture Competition, New York
Took part in the “Ürban Art Contest” in Maubege, Paris
Took Part in Jadex’92 Exhibition (Jakarta Art and Design Expo”)
in Jakarta Design Center, Jakarta
Took Part in Asian Fine Arts exhibition in Gedung Merdeka , Bandung
Took part in a charity Exhibition “Ärt for Flores” for the natural
disaster in Flores. It was held in World Trade Centre, Jakarta

1993 | Designed and built the statue of Garuda Pancasila for the Navy
Headquarter in Cilangkap, Jakarta
Took part in REDAS Exhibition in Singapore
Received a tribute for “REDAS Competition” from the Committee of
the Competition and the Leader of REDAS, Art Division in Singapore.
Took part in Asian Fine Arts Exhibition in Fukuoka Museum,
Fukuoka, Japan
Design and built the Navy Monument “Jalesveva Jayamahe” in Dermaga
Ujung Ujung , Surabaya. The statue reaching a height of 30.6 meters
made of recycled copper was completed in 1995.

1994 | Took part in the Third New Delhi Trienalle in India
Took part in the Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition , Yogyakarta
Designed and built trophy for Dunhill Soccer League in Jakarta

1995 | Won the first prize of statues to be placed in four corners
of the National Monument. The making of the statue was cancelled.
Took part in the modern and contemporary Fine Arts exhibition “Asian
Modernism” which was held by the Japan Foundation Asia Center. This
exhibition toured in Tokyo,Bangkok, Manila and Jakarta.
Solo Exhibition III titled “Kalamatra” in the National Gallery, Jakarta
Made a public statue for Newton Town Square in Timika, Irian Jaya
Appointed as a member of the Board of Judges for Environmental
Sculpture Competition” in Citra Grand city, Jakarta.

1996 | Took part in the Contemporary Art Exhibition of Non-Aligned Countries
in Jakarta. One of his statues was chosen as a public statue for
the APEC Conference in Manila, Philippines. Afterwards, this statue was
selected to be placed in APEC Sculpture Garden in Manila.
Became a member of the Royal Society of British Sculptors in London.

1997 | Received an honour of “Karya Adhikarsa” from the GN-OTA (National
Movement of Foster Parents) in Jakarta
Chosen to take part in an international exhibition which was held
on the Annual Meeting of World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Took part in the exhibition of “Dialogue of 12 Indonesian Artists”
in Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta
Speaker at Asia Pacific Theme Park & Attraction’97
Seminar in Singapore

1998 | Designed and built a public statue titled “December Wind I”
in Singapore Expo, Singapore

1999 | Established “NuArt Sculpture Park” in his studio in Bandung
Solo exhibition V “Sekala- Niskala” in Edwin Gallery , Jakarta
Speaker at “Green Design World Congress of Environmental”
in University Yonsei, Seoul, Korea

2001 | Design and built the statue “Lembu Swana”, an icon of the people
of Borneo, at Kumala Island, Tenggarong , East Borneo
Design and built a public statue at Sangatta, Kutai, East Borneo
